iTunes Player Won't Advance to Next Song

That usually means that your songs have come unchecked. iTunes playback will not automatically advance to an unchecked song.

If you cannot see the checkbox for each song, go to Edit > Preferences > General, and enable "Show list checkboxes."

If you can see them and they are not checked, hold the CTRL key and click any one of the empty boxes.

A single CTRL-click -- intentional or unintentional -- is enough the uncheck or recheck the entire library. It happens!

I've had this problem since an update around April/May 2014. All songs are checked in all playlists, but none will advance. Gone through at least 4 updates since then, hoping each one will fix it, but sadly, it doesn't. Thoughts?

Same problem for me. I've double and triple checked the check box. Thing is, issue is intermittent. No discernible rhyme or reason.

I had just this problem and found that it was solved by ensuring that the Repeat option (under Controls) was checked Off.

Just downloaded NEW I tunes version. No checkmarks visible even following above fixes. No box, no advance on any playlist. Help?

Just downloaded new I-tunes update (7/2015) and ...no boxes! Show list checkboxes is checked.

Reply to self. New I tunes... all songs must be checked in my music (library). Now playlists work as usual.

Can you help me with this - I am having the same problem. How does one check songs in Apple Music?
