Telstra Plus Membership Year

Your membership year starts on the date you join and runs for 12 months. The amount you spend within a membership year will determine your membership tier and the Tier Benefits you can access.

Once you unlock a tier, you’ll be in that tier for the rest of your current and following membership year.

Earning Points

You’ll earn 10 Telstra Plus points for every dollar you spend on:

  • your payment for services or recharge; and
  • the paid component of Points + Pay or Points + Repayment purchases.

You can also earn bonus points when you take up a special offer. You will not earn points on:

  • outright purchases using dollars only;
  • points only purchases;
  • the points component of Points + Pay or Points + Repayment purchases;
  • payment on non-Telstra branded services;
  • credits;
  • refunds;
  • late payment fees; and
  • Telstra Enterprise products.

If we provide you a refund, we’ll remove the associated points from your points balance.

We may restrict selected business accounts from being eligible to earn points at our discretion. If you do not have an active Telstra branded service, you are not eligible to earn points.

We may remove from your account any Telstra Plus Points credited for which you were not eligible, including any points that were credited to your account incorrectly.

Transferring points

You can transfer points to any other Telstra account that has joined Telstra Plus.

Points expiry

Points you haven’t redeemed will expire after 3 years.

Redeeming points

You can use your points to purchase products and services that we make available to you, including rewards in the Rewards Store. Delivery fees will apply for some purchases by Silver, Member and Business tier members.

You will only be able to redeem points if you are a Telstra Plus member and have an active Telstra branded service.

We may receive a payment from program partners for some rewards offered in the store.

Subject to any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law, we are not responsible for any loss caused as the result of rewards having been exhausted or no longer being available to members, or as the result of a fraudulent redemption of Telstra Plus Points by an unauthorised person, except to the extent caused or contributed to by our (or our contractors’) negligence.

Telstra Plus points do not have a monetary value and cannot be converted to money or redeemed for cash. They cannot be sold, transferred, or exchanged other than in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

Other payment options

Any monetary payment must be made using an Accepted Payment Card (online or in-store) or cash (in-store only) or using the Repayment Option.

You can redeem a reward in the Rewards Store with Points + Repayment Option if you’re eligible to take up a Repayment Option from Telstra. Repayment Options are subject to the terms set out at:

Australian Consumer Law

There is no exchange or refund available if you change your mind or make the wrong selection. This paragraph does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. If you are a consumer under the Australian Consumer Law, our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under law.

You are entitled to a solution if a product does not meet a consumer guarantee. Where a product is faulty, the solution will depend on the type of fault and whether that fault is “major”. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Consumer guarantees apply regardless of any manufacturer’s warranty or Telstra policies and can apply even after the manufacturer’s warranty has ended.

Should you return a product under a consumer guarantee, your points will be returned in approximately 7 business days.

Suspending or ending your membership

If you don’t have at least one active service or choose to leave Telstra Plus, your membership will be suspended until you sign up for another service or reactivate your membership. If your membership is suspended for 12 months, your points balance will expire.

We may end or suspend your membership immediately if we reasonably believe you’re misusing Telstra Plus (including if your use is unacceptable, unreasonable, fraudulent, or illegal, or if you otherwise breach your obligations under the Telstra FairPlay Policy. If we end your membership, your Telstra Plus Points will expire.

If the account holder passes away, a family member or a person who shares their home address can contact us and claim the remaining points within 12 months.
